Being around children can make some things in life seem that bit more exhausting, messy, and hard. But for the most part being around them can make things exciting, special and a bit more of an event and I like that. I like the energy they bring to things, their enthusiasm, their curiousity and their innocence.
I really don't usually bother with bonfire night but these last few years I have been going to displays with my nieces and nephew and I kind of like this new tradition. It was nice being outside with our glow sticks, toffee apples and warm doughnuts - it's rare that we enjoy family time outdoors in the winter and I like that this occasion gives us an excuse to do it :-)
My niece made me laugh loads that night. After reciting welephants firework safety rules numerous times she was squealing with excitement all through the show. She got louder and louder as the display went on ending up with just plain screams lol.
Her: Weeeeeeee!
Me: LOL Hey! my poor ears I don't know who is louder you or the fireworks....
Her: Weeeeee! hehehe
After the show she stood silent for a moment deep in thought with a smile growing on a face.
Her: Hey Aunty Tash... Do you really think that I am louder than a firework? because that would be cool!
