Gosh this video makes me want to skate sooo badly!!!! I could give the Lucozade a miss but the video and the tricks and done beautifully. I actually live ten minutes walk from a roller skating rink. I used to go to there Friday night roller disco all the time and I can still remember my neon pink and black Roller skates to the rust around the lace rings- I still have their carry case(*she types with a glazed look on her face*)
I also have fond memories of my sister roller skating, and afternoons of just racing from one end of the garden to another with my walkman in my pocket. I used to have competitions with myself and prepare little performances that were never actually shown to anyone apart from my invisible audience, but then I grew up and Mum and Dad went and got a conservatory so my dreams ended. Well that is a slight over exaggeration - my escapades with skates never ended completely I did have a roller skating party a few years back and I have visited the skating rink the past couple of holidays to take my niece to their sessions)
But now with my ever ongoing hunt for thighs (i know they are buried somewhere underneath this flab) with my nature of being a jack of all trades and a master of none, with my love of old school games and sports - i.e hula hooping and skipping AND my sheer excitement at being able to one day combine hooping and roller skating to get seriously fast sustained spinning I think i may have to delve into my inner, young self and get my skate on!
I have contacted the local womens skating team to see if they can help me out with my quest - they actually are a "roller derby " team which seems like hardcore rugby on skates with a lot of pushing and shoving and I am a little bit scared of them but I am quite excited all the same especially as I have already been looking at gorgeous skates I can get lol.
