And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon

Finally got round to going to their new tearooms and bakery in west didsbury the other week.
It was as cute as expected, in it's light and bright colours but not too sickly.

I picked up a selection of cakes for a birthday gift and one as a taster for me. They had some nice flavours to choose from, after eights, gingery ones and the classics - all presented really well.

The Verdict: To be honest they hit the spot- as cake always will and they definately weren't dry which is my cake pet peeve - if you want dry you get a biscuit. They did not take first place in my Manchester cupcake stakes- I like them a little lighter in sponge and icing. I will obviously try them again though as it might have just been that one cake :-).

What I will also want to try is there cupcake decorating courses that are going to be held in the evenings early next year. I am going to see if I can snag a place but the only problem is you get taste samples every session and my new years resolution will obviously be to lose weight (as per usual) so maybe I will be setting myself up to fall. Ohh well.
