Scrub a Dub Dub

Ok so I am broke..... I hate those months when you know your pay check will be done in the first week. I really wanted to spend some money on some body scrubs this month but I just couldn't justify it so I had to get inventive.

I usually use origins Incredible Spreadable Scrub for my body.

Then for my face I have lately been using modern friction
SCRUB: Modern Friction™

But that in my opinion didn't cut it as well as my old Avon face scrub (which I think they have seemed to stop making :-/either that or they have changed the packaging to the one below)

So as I couldn't buy any of my usual products I made my own scrub and it turned out...... lovely!
I mixed sugar, olive oil, almond oil a squidge of lemon juice and some oats (oats are said to soothe and tone the skin and I remember making a face mask out of them in my teenage years to stop the spots)

My skin felt much softer afterwards and someone actually asked me if I had brought a new product as my skin looked brighter and smoother!

I will definately be making more, I like a bit of a rough scrub that I can feel working and this was it. It didn't really smell of much but there are plenty of oils that I could put in to change that if you wish.

Give it a try - home made scrubs can be great for the body and for the budget!
I'm going to try and make some different ones over the next few weeks/months and I will put up reviews, ingredients and details of their properties on this blog.

I used my scrub before I could take a picture of it so this picture is taken from here and mine was a more yellowy colour.
