I Started My Crochet Classes

Yippeee I started learning to crochet. Partly I was attracted to this course because it was sooo reasonable! but also because I have seen some lovely granny squares about and I am desperate to make a blanket, this is supposed to be quicker and easier than knitting too so I am very excited (don't worry my pretty colourful knitting needles I have not given up on you yet.)

I must admit though I did wonder whether this would be right for me... generally looking at knitted, lacy, doiliey style things makes me itch. I also associate crochet with my grandma's toilet roll holding dolls and doillies eesh. She just had multicoloured and murky cream and brown doillies everywhere it was overkill!

So I got there on time that was good, the group was nice and the teacher was great - really patient and chatty but i was plain rubbish... i still keep falling into knitting actions with my wrapping and I really am not holding it right.

However I did produce the above lil swatchy thing tho whoop whoop! It is on very chunky wool but I think the fact that I ripped it out and could re- do it means I am ready for the next class.

P.S: My teacher was in the middle of a crocheting a little froggy hat that looked a lot like the darker green one below - so obviously that made me want to learn even more.
